Bylaws RewriteShaftsbury, thanks to a State Municipal Planning Grant, has undertaken to rewrite our zoning bylaws in order to eliminate contradictions in regulations, to make the language less legalistic and easier for the average citizen to understand and to bring our land use regulations into alignment with State statutes. Public hearings on the new draft have been held by the Planning Commission and the Selectboard. The current draft entitled "Shaftsbury Land Use Regulations 20161123" has seen only minor changes during the hearing process. Citizens of Shaftsbury will vote on the new draft on March 7, 2017.
